How We Help

Server Management That Catches Problems Before They Become Outages

Whether your servers sit in a rack down the hall, run as virtual machines on VMware or Hyper-V, or live in the cloud, someone has to watch them every day — not just when something breaks. We monitor, patch, and maintain servers for small businesses, schools, and local governments across Florida, so the first you hear about a problem is usually after we've already fixed it.

The problem

Servers fail quietly, then all at once

Disk space fills up over weeks. A drive starts throwing early warning errors months before it actually dies. A patch silently fails to install and quietly leaves a server exposed. Performance degrades a little at a time until an application that used to be fast is suddenly unusable. None of these show up as a dramatic failure right away — they build slowly, which is exactly why they're so easy to miss without someone watching for them every day.

Most organizations we work with don't run just one kind of server. A city office might have a couple of physical servers in a closet, a handful of virtual machines on VMware or Hyper-V, and a few workloads already in the cloud. A school district often has similar sprawl across buildings. Without consistent monitoring across all of it, gaps open up between what's actually happening on a server and what anyone in the building knows about it — and those gaps are where outages come from.

How Emerald handles it

What we actually watch, and how we keep it running

Daily monitoring, not guesswork

We track disk space, drive health, memory and CPU load, backup completion, and patch status on every server we manage, every day. When something trends the wrong way, we get an alert and follow up before it becomes an emergency you have to call in.

Patching on a schedule that works for you

Patches get staged and applied during a planned maintenance window, not pushed automatically the moment they're released. We confirm the server comes back up clean afterward, so updates don't turn into unplanned downtime during your workday.

On-prem, virtual, or cloud — we handle the mix

Most clients run a blend: a physical box in a server closet, VMs on VMware or Hyper-V, and some workloads in Azure or AWS. We manage all of it with the same monitoring and backup approach, usually through Veeam, so recovery works the same way regardless of where the server actually lives.

Common questions

Server management questions we hear often

How does proactive server monitoring actually work?

We run continuous monitoring on your servers that tracks disk space, drive health, memory and CPU load, backup job completion, and patch status. When something starts trending in the wrong direction — a disk filling up, a drive throwing early warning errors, a patch that failed to install — we get an alert and follow up, often before anyone at your organization notices anything different.

Do you support on-premise servers, virtual servers, and cloud servers, or just one?

All three, and most of our clients run a mix. We manage physical servers in on-site racks, virtual machines on VMware and Hyper-V, and cloud-hosted workloads on Azure and AWS. Backups typically run through Veeam regardless of where the server lives, so recovery works the same way no matter the environment.

How do you patch servers without causing unplanned downtime?

Patches go through a scheduled maintenance window rather than installing automatically the moment they're released. We stage updates, apply them at a time that fits your operation, and confirm the server comes back up clean afterward. If a patch causes a problem, we catch it during that window instead of during your workday.
