How We Help

Microsoft 365 Support, Handled End to End

License questions, mailbox migrations, Teams permissions that don't make sense, a login that suddenly won't cooperate — Microsoft 365 administration is one of the things our team handles most, for clients ranging from city governments to private schools to local businesses. Here's how we keep it running.

The problem

Microsoft 365 gets messy faster than most people expect

Most organizations didn't set out to have five different license tiers assigned across twenty employees, or three former staff members still holding active mailboxes. It happens gradually — someone gets added at whatever tier was easiest at the time, a contractor's account never gets cleaned up, a SharePoint site gets shared a little too broadly because it was faster than sorting out permissions properly. None of it looks urgent until it is.

Then something breaks: a sync error stops files from updating, a security policy locks someone out mid-workday, a shared calendar or mailbox stops behaving the way it used to. Few organizations have someone on staff whose job is specifically to own Microsoft 365 administration, so these issues tend to sit until they can't be ignored.

How Emerald handles it

Three things we're doing in your tenant every week

License Management

We audit what's actually assigned against what's actually being used, right-size licenses when they don't match, and clean up orphaned accounts left behind by former employees or contractors — so you're not paying for seats nobody's using.

Email & Platform Migrations

Moving off an on-premise Exchange server, a legacy email platform, or a poorly configured Microsoft 365 tenant is one of the more common projects we run — planned around your schedule, with mail flow and calendars intact on the other side.

Security & Access Configuration

We set up multi-factor authentication, baseline conditional access rules, and mailbox and data protection policies that fit how your organization actually works, and adjust them as your team changes.

“The tech went above and beyond to solve my Microsoft license issue. He contacted my operations manager to continue troubleshooting, then followed up by calling me back and explaining the solution. So impressed with his excellent customer support! He made my job so much easier and saved me time.” — Staff member, private school client
Common questions

Microsoft 365 support, answered

How does Emerald manage Microsoft 365 licenses?

We review what's assigned against what's actually used, then adjust license tiers up or down so each person has the license type they need — no more, no less. When someone leaves the organization, we remove or reassign their license as part of offboarding instead of letting it sit active and billed.

Can Emerald migrate us from on-premise Exchange or another email platform to Microsoft 365?

Yes. We plan the migration around your organization's schedule, move mailboxes, calendars, and contacts over, and verify mail flow before cutting over completely, so staff see minimal disruption.

Why does MFA and security policy setup matter for Microsoft 365?

Microsoft 365 accounts are a common target for attackers because a compromised login can expose email, files, and connected apps all at once. We set up multi-factor authentication and baseline security policies so an attacker needs more than just a stolen password to get in.

Not sure if your Microsoft 365 setup is doing you any favors?

We'll take a look at your licensing, permissions, and security settings and tell you plainly what we find.
